Title: Supply Chain Coordinator
Location: Mt. Laurel, NJ

Employment Type: Full Time in Person, 8am-5pm

We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator to support and help manage the corporate transportation functions of the company. This role is ideal for a highly motivated supply-chain professional looking to grow within our small but integral team.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and a developing leader with an interest in strategy and process improvement. This position supports the management of the Logistics Department and plays an active role in day-to-day transportation operations.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily transportation functions, providing direct support to the Logistics Department, and working closely with the Shipping and Receiving departments to help ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective operations. You must be comfortable taking on a wide variety of responsibilities as needed.

Requirements – Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 0-3 years of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or transportation environment preferred
  • Knowledge of Just-in-time shipping procedures
  • Strong communication skills, including phone, email, and in person interactions
  • Proven ability to negotiate with transportation providers and vendors
  • Working knowledge of laws and regulations governing transportation, or willingness to learn
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to support logistics projects that impact company strategy and transportation cost control
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 programs

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct carrier-pricing reviews and bid procedures to ensure the continued use of quality companies at market competitive prices.
  • Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day shipping operations across all branch locations – including assigning, directing, and reviewing branch shipping supervisors to ensure proper motor carrier selection and lane assignment.
  • Monitor the outsourced freight payment service to ensure carrier and rail freight bills are accurate and paid correctly.
  • Oversee field purchases and freight damage claims to ensure timely, accurate pickups, cost-effective freight consolidation, and proper, prompt filing and collection of carrier claims.
  • Trace and follow up procedures for in-transit shipments via truck, rail or intermodal.
  • Manage and maintain Freight rate tables and provide accurate freight rate quotes to Sales and Purchasing for all direct shipping and mill locations.
  • Oversee inventory stored in outside warehouses to ensure product leaves in a timely manner
  • Stay up to date on applicable Federal and State Transportation Regulations.
  • Maintain shipping records and carrier files, including insurance certificates and rate tariffs, and monitor carrier safety ratings
